ACHIEVEMENT DAY PLANNING SESSION

9:00 a.m. until finished
LOCATION: First Christian Church
**This is a required meeting if you are entering students in Achievement Day.**
FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
Hello everyone,
I just want to quickly say thank you to all the teachers who performed at the last meeting.
There was a nice mix of repertoire and I enjoyed every selection.
Some brief reminders:
Our next meeting is devoted entirely to Achievement Day planning.
If you have students participating "be there or be square."
On March 10, Marjorie Monroe-Fischer will be discussing "Music in China." This should be fascinating.
On March 13 we have our Ensemble Recital.
Last year we had a wonderful turn out. I hope we can repeat this event with as much enthusiasm.
It is also one of my duties to remind everyone that the MTNA National Conference is in Albuquerque this year, from March 20-24.
As always, there will be a wide array of master classes and recitals from renowned professionals.
Check it out in the February/March "Music Teacher" magazine. And, New Mexico is "The Land of Enchantment."
See you soon. I'm looking forward to Achievement Day. It will be fun.

9:30-10:30 Program: Incorporating Harpsichord Performance Practice Principles in Teaching 18th Century Keyboard.

Application deadline -- February 6
Audition -- February 20
Students in grades 9-12 who take private lessons.
Perform a movement of a concerto or a major work that appears in concert repertoire.
Winner will play with the orchestra on their concert April l6.
