FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
Hello Everyone,
I am looking forward to the December meeting
and another wonderful pot luck luncheon.
It should be a good one with Pat Burge as our guest
to present a program of improvisation, her music, and saving animals.
But more importantly, I hope everybody had a grand Thanksgiving.
As the end of the year approaches I would like to extend
A Very Merry Christmas to All
and a Happy New Year!
Bill
Thank you to LAMTA
for the beautiful begonia brought to me after my hysterectomy.
It was very kind of you all to think of me and give me a living symbol.

PIANO FESTIVAL
Piano Festival on Nov 7 went really well.
There were close to 90 students involved (29 from Loveland), 18 teachers (7 from Loveland), and 6 judges.
Almost thirty of the students were levels 2-5, the new category. This new category paid for more than 1/4 of the event.
The involvement of having students in levels 2, 3, 4, and 5 noncompetitively was well received by parents, students and teachers.
It was considered a step up from Achievement Day.
All were impressed by the level of excellence of the recital performers. It was a motivating day.
There were also favorable comments from many people on how well organized the event was, and the CSU facility was very impressive.
Members of the Piano Festival committee deserve our thanks:
Sidney Thompson, Mary Rudy, Aliza Auyeng, Krista Warnock and Gary Knapp.
Each of these members were very focused on their duties and contributed so very much to pulling everything together.
Thank you to all of the monitors and front desk persons, and judges.
Thank you Caroline Orman becoming a judge on the spur of the moment, and also Judy Johnson for being the M.C. at the recital.
Also, thank you Renee Clay for gathering all the applications from the teachers and keeping track of the finances.
The Piano Festival Committee will meet at my house Dec. 3.
We will review things that worked well, and discuss concerns of teachers and judges for what needs to changed for next year.
We will also discuss whether CSU will be affordable for next year.
According to Eileen May, CSU event coordinator, the cost will be more.
We will also decide the theme for next year. This information will be shared at the December LAMTA meeting.
Again, thank all of you for helping make Piano Festival a success. Debi Strick
