TOPIC: Simply Music by Candy Rushold
Music has been an important part of my life from an early age.
Formal piano lessons began when I was 7 years old and my music experience included
providing accompaniment for my Dads singing, voice student
accompaniment in High School, band, choir and ensembles.
I am Mom to three grown children and have lived in the Loveland/Fort Collins area since 1983.
After teaching traditional piano for 21 years, I am delighted to have found the Simply Music approach!
It is a breath of fresh air!
I love knowing I can reach each student according to THEIR own learning style.
I love seeing students progress quickly . . playing fun songs in 2-3 months time
that would take most traditional students 2-3 years to achieve.
I love seeing my students"age 5 to 83"walk through the door excited about their successes.
I love watching the relationships grow in shared lesson groups.
I love that Simply Music redefines who can learn to play and enjoy a life-long relationship with music!
FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
Good Day Teachers,
I must say we have already had a year that has been packed with necessary business concerns.
And, it will continue.
First of all we have the Piano Festival. I always have fun at this event and
I would encourage all teachers and students
to attend the winners recital in the afternoon.
It can be a great motivator and the students are always very well prepared.
Then we need to finish the revisions to our Standing Rules.
On top of that I have new information from CSMTA concerning
theory testing at SPA and the Achievement Day Tests.
This is important Information so I hope we have a good turn out. But, don't let me scare you away.
This won't take very long. I'll compact the information into as small a capsule as possible
so we may move right along to our program,
"Simply Music," presented by Candy Rushold.
Now moving along to a very nice concern.
As winners of the CSMTA Local Association of the Year,
we are the state nominee for the national award, MTNA Local Association of the Year.
I already have a lot of information for our report,
but MTNA suggests that we include newspaper articles.
I know we have been mentioned a number of times in the Reporter Harold during the 2008-09 school year.
Since I don't get the local paper, I am making a request that anyone who has saved some of articles
to please send me photocopies by November 15 (or bring them to the meeting).
I appreciate everyone's assistance here, and I know the articles will be prove to be quite valuable.
We are in excellent shape, and I know we will continue to have a good year.
I hope the snow was enjoyable to many, or at least didn't cause too many problems,
and I'm looking forward to seeing you soon.
Bill
