HISTORIAN NEEDED!
We would welcome a volunteer to keep adding to our scrapbooks, but would love to have someone who would at least take pictures and collect newspaper clippings etc. in a shoe box. Please call Sandy.

Help with Job Descriptions !
Your Executive Committee has been working hard all summer to get organized for the coming school year. One of the items we have been working on is an organizational chart, and updating the job descriptions for each area. If you have not already sent Sandy a written job description for your area of responsibility, could you please do so before the end of September?

Virtual Library
As I was shopping at the CSMTA Convention in Colorado Springs this past June, I was lamenting the high cost of books. Seven or eight of them looked interesting, but I was sure my budget couldn't stretch past one or two. That is why I am so excited about LAMTA's new Virtual Library! We all have great books on our shelf that we have read once or twice, but don't use daily. With the Virtual Library, each member will look through their books and choose 20 or fewer that they would be willing to lend to another member for a month. Judy will list these books with your name on our website. If a member wants to borrow a book, they need to call you and have you bring it to the next LAMTA meeting. They promise to return it at the next meeting after that. You are responsible and accountable only to each other. In order to get this idea up and running, we need you to come up with a list: title, author, and short description, of no more than 20 books you are willing to lend. Email it to Judy by September 23, and she will post it on our website. So simple. I have enjoyed reading Barry Green's The Mastery of Music: Ten Pathways to True Artistry this summer. I'll put it on my list to share! Sandy Lundberg

Duet & Ensemble Recital:
Scheduled for March 28, 7:00 p.m. at Ann Bunyans home. This is open to any combination of two or more, including the teacher, parents, friends and family of a LAMTA student (LAMTA student must be IN the performance)

Chopin Award:
We awarded three Chopin Awards this year. Perhaps we should encourage our high school students to use their music at school and in the community so they will be eligible for the award.
