Greetings and Felicitations in the Year 2007!
Kay Broughton is our hostess for the meeting on January 10. We urge you to be there for two big reasons. Christine Schumann is presenting the program on "Developing Tools and Styles for Composition" and Achievement Day preparations need to begin
now.
The due date for student entrants is January 29. The entry fee is $15 per student with the exception of beginning students who only require a listener. Their fee is $10. Please have students make checks to you, their teacher. You will make one check to LAMTA for all your entered students.
Look at last year's Achievement Day papers and CSMTA's October 2006 Notes and News before January 10. There is much to remember. Sonia will give final instructions at the meeting. Bring questions and suggestions.
Our list of probable number of entries from the January meeting is meager. Some of you were not able to be present. Please concentrate on encouraging as many of your students as possible to enter. It is such a worthwhile endeavor for all levels of students. Sometimes, playing in Achievement Day lights the spark some students need to continue the effort of learning and really enjoying music.
Speaking of the December meeting, what a super program our own teachers gave us! Debi, Sonia, Bill and Victoria, Caroline, Renee and Sandy played some astounding pieces with great verve and variety showing that LAMTA teachers are talented performers as well as great teachers. Thank you all for your time and effort. Thanks also to Ann for hosting after just getting off the airplane from a long trip the evening before the meeting.
See you all at the meeting, Jan. 10IF THERE ARE NO MORE BLIZZARDS!!
