April 2006
LAMTA Meeting April 12, 9:03 AM
Judy Johnson
Program: The Perfect Wrong Note
Location: Home of Bevery Haag, 2083 Rodgers Ct.
Our topic this month is the wonderful book by William Westney, "The Perfect Wrong Note." We hope that many of you have read it. Carol Condit will moderate the discussion. Please come even if you haven't been able to read the book. We know you will enjoy the morning. And we will enjoy seeing you.
President's Message
Dr. William Popp
As the year draws to a close, my primary focus is now on ensuring that the officer and chairperson positions are filled for next year. I asked for nominations at the last meeting and will do the same this month. Of course, no one will be nominated without their consent. We have nominations for all the officer positions except the two Vice President slots. Both positions have duties which require attention for only a fraction of the season. I have also received nominations for some of the chair person slots. If you wish to continue where you are, and/or have any nominations in mind, please send them to me via e-mail or at the next meeting. As the chair of the nominations committee, I will be happy to discuss the options with the nominees and the committee.
On a lighter note, I have arranged a time for students to perform at Alterra Sterling House (assisted living). The date is Saturday, April 29 at 2:00 PM. Please have students arrive at least ten minutes early with two or three prepared selections. I hope to see a good turn out.
I'm looking forward to seeing you at the next meeting. Until then, enjoy the Spring weather. Bill
Honors Recital
Don't forget to register your students for May 6 Honors Recital. The deadline is April 20, but the earlier you register the better so that Elaine can have as much done as possible before she leaves on her trip. To register on line click REGISTER. Don't forget to enter your volunteer job on the form, and remember to bring two dozen cookies the evening of the recital.
