December 2005

President's Message
Bill Popp
As 2005draws to a close,I certainly hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The programs thus far have all been excellent and I am looking forward to theDecember program, which will feature Russian music performed by our own members (along with a Russian buffet).

Ourmost important event during November, of course, was the piano festival. My congratulations to all who took part.It all ran very smoothly, the students were well prepared, and the festival concert was outstanding. It seems that all the students made giant strides. It was a great team effort.

The second half of our year should be equally exciting.Of particular note is the March program, which will feature Dr. Alejandro Cremaschi.Dr. Cremaschi is an international competition winner, on the faculty at The University of Colorado, and anexpertin Latin American music.I had the pleasure of introducing Dr. Cremaschi at last years state conference, and I would highly recommend that every member come hear his informative and stunning presentation.

As the year draws to a close, stay safe, and best wishes for the coming holidays.

We hope you are thinking ahead to our 250th Birthday Celebration for Mozart in January. Please prepare to play a selection by Mozart, let a CDdo it for youor share a bit of trivia. This is really a leap of faith, kind of like a pot-luck dinner - we hope there will be a good variety of "things about Mozart." Please call Judy or e-mail her with information about what you would like to share.

If you have not yet picked up your copy of The Perfect Wrong Note by William Westney, they are available at Music & Arts. You will really enjoy the book and we hope to have a stimulating discussion in April.
